Bio

Seattle native, pianist Leah Deobald is a graduate of The Juilliard School where she received her Bachelor of Music in piano performance under the tutelage of Julian Martin. Top prizes in numerous competitions led her to appearances on NW classical King FM radio in Seattle, Kansas Public Radio, as well as performances in Carnegie Weil Recital Hall, Seattle Benaroya Hall, Catherine's Palace, St. Petersburg Russia and Central Italy. Along with these excellent opportunities, she was selected a fellow at the prestigious Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival and the Sarasota Music Festival. 

She has received mentorship in solo and chamber music settings from several renowned musicians such as Joseph Lin, former 1st violinist of the Juilliard Quartet; Gilles Vonsattel of the New York Chamber Music Society; Timothy Eddy, Duane Hulbert, Robert McDonald, Rohan de Silva, Ilana Vered, and Boris Slutsky. 

Leah is a passionate pedagogue that focuses on holistic musical training and nurturing appreciation for the arts at any age. Throughout her years of teaching students of various skill levels, she prides herself in passing down jewels of knowledge that have been given to her through her esteemed pedagogical lineage.
